Looking back to EARTH DAY 2008

Anthro21 was approached by EQUINOX at the beginning of the year to provide Management & Booking services. We agreed, especially since we enjoy their music and also their philosophy of the environment (eco-consciousness). In time we also added Sponsorship Sales services, promoting them within their hometown of Fredericksburg, VA and branding them as "America's original eco-rock band." With that came co-branding and college marketing with the local Earth Day celebrations; it was a great match!

Equinox consists of Michael Geddes, II (vocals) and Bobby Ragland (percussion). Their music has an ecological consciousness and philosophy. This is all evident in the title of their album called Balance, and recordings such as "Trees", "Rain", and "Diamond." Their music sings of love and respect for our natural environment and everyday life.
The first show was Friday April 11, 2008 for an all-campus event to bring awareness to the importance of recycling by having students sort through piles of paper, glass, and plastic: Trash on the Lawn Day. The second show was Friday April 18, 2008 at second all-campus festival of student organizations called SOUP-stock (as in WOODstock); the reaction the band received after their performance was dynamic. The third show was held Saturday April 19, 2008 in Alum Spring Park in Fredericksburg, VA. It was the Earth Day concert hosted and produced by the Sierra Club’s Rappahannock Group.

Soon after, the band made plans to travel to the UK to shoot their first major music video in the world's only indoor skatepark; including the launch of a new skateboard line. Since June 2008 the band has taken a hiatus and at the writing of this Michael Geddes, II is currently recording new material for a solo project: http://www.michaelgeddes.com
